Verification you can understand
A directory entry is a starting point for finding a roofing business. Presence in LocalRoof does not establish licensing, insurance, manufacturer certification, quality or participation in homeowner matching.
LocalRoof Verified
This badge appears only when current evidence meets the LocalRoof verification standard. Evidence records identify the check, status, source, verification date, expiration where applicable, and a reference. Unknown, pending, failed or expired evidence cannot establish a current badge.
The standard covers business identity, insurance evidence, credentials applicable to the work, and service capability. A badge describes the recorded checks; it does not guarantee workmanship, coverage of a particular claim, or a project outcome. Ask the contractor for documents applicable to your project.
Permit history
LocalRoof reviews available municipal permit history as part of the residential roofing experience check. We record the source, search scope, date and relevant findings. A permit record can provide project context; it does not establish who performed every part of the work or guarantee workmanship. Missing records are a gap for review, not proof that work was unpermitted. This describes the review process, not a completed check for every listed business.
LocalRoof Provider
This badge means a currently verified contractor actively participates in LocalRoof homeowner introductions under an active agreement. Directory contractors can exist without joining the Provider program.
Specialties
Provider reported means the business supplied that specialty. LocalRoof verified means supporting evidence has been reviewed and remains current. We do not establish specialties from generated descriptions or a business name.
Reviews and ranking
Displayed Google ratings and counts are third-party information recorded during data collection. They may have changed. LocalRoof homeowner feedback is collected separately. Payment never buys verification or a quality badge. Optional Premium listings receive a labeled Featured position above other Verified listings in their service cities. Other listings are ordered by verified, claimed and unclaimed status, alphabetically within each group.
Freshness and corrections
We retain sources and observations so changes can be reviewed. A failed refresh does not renew verification. We do not claim every listing is continuously checked. If you find incorrect information, email support@localroof.org.
